Dr.Tapas completed his MBBS from SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Odhisa, in 1997 followed by MS (General Surgery) from the same institute in 2004. He has done his Fellow Observership in Bariatric surgery at Max Saket hospital under Dr P K Choubey.

Dr. Tapas has started his career as a Senior Resident in Department of General Surgery and Surgical Gastroenterology, Hitech Medical College.
